March 19: Dirt Diggin’                                                                                                                                      Ever thought much about dirt? From sticky mud to grainy sand, there is a wide variety. Not only will we learn about the different types of dirt, we will also discover what creatures and other things that we might find in the dirt with a dirt dig! From anchoring trees and plants, to providing a habitat for various animals - dirt is an important part of our planet.

March 20: Leap Into Spring
Hip hip hooray! It’s the first day of spring! It’s time for warmer weather, wildflowers, and bird nests. We will soar into spring by building our own kites and then flying them, as well as creating a window garden with seeds that can eventually be planted outside.

March 21: Arts and Nature
Nature is inspiring! We will use Ruffner’s natural surroundings to encourage our artistic talent. We will have many different mediums to choose from - from paint to clay. We will also incorporate natural items into our pieces from the mountain.

March 22: Wetland Wonders
What at first what might like just a pool of water will turn into an amazing and diverse ecosystem with the dip of a net. We will use nets to find tadpoles, whirligig beetles, dragonfly nymphs, and a slew of other creatures that live in the water. Prepared to get muddy during this exploration!

March 23: Geology Rocks
We will uncover fun and excitement as we learn about and look for fossils in our limestone quarry. We will also learn about the different types of rocks, as well as specific properties that different types of rocks have.
